Paris historique carries out a series of actions to promote heritage
1. Vigilant Monitoring & Legal Engagement
A committee keeps track of projected renovations/restorations and demolitions in Paris that risk degrading historical monuments.
For members, Paris historique publishes « La Lettre », a newsletter every other month, an annual magazine and a monthly press reviews. Active on social media to alert and mobilize public support.
Paris historique also alerts authorities in case of threats to heritage and initiates legal actions when necessary.
2. Major Current Project: Maison d’Ourscamp Cellar Restoration
The current focus is the ambitious restoration of the 13th-century vaulted cellar in the Maison d’Ourscamp — a rare medieval urban structure, remains of the city house of the abbey of Ourscamp (100kms/62 miles north of Paris).
Dating from the 13th century, it is a rare medieval urban cellar open to the public, unique in Paris.
The association oversees its restoration, supported by the DRAC Île‑de‑France and generous donors.
Documentation and updates are regularly shared via our social media.
This restoration reflects the association’s identity: merging research, craftsmanship, and public outreach in one emblematic project.
